(1999): ERIC. EBSCO. WEB. 21 Apr. 2011 This survey examined alcohol and other drug use among full- and atypical undergraduate students from 18 colleges in New York State. Students completed questionnaires on demographics; working and living arrangements; academics; perceptions of campus substance squall policies; drinking doings and substance debauch patterns; and consequences of use. The study found that alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana were the great(p) substances used; 81 percent of students reported using alcohol, 46 percent used tobacco, and 34 percent used marijuana. This study supports past research findings top a high incidence of alcohol consumption among community and sorority members. However, by comparing the responses of the 1994 sample to the 2000 sample, many important significant differences were found that provide a more optimistic essence of the issue of alcohol use among Greek members.
